Established in 1960 in Ahmedabad's iconic Lati Bazar, our legacy began with D.M. Thakkar & Sons, founded by Late Shri Dahyalal M. Thakkar and Late Shri Ratilal D. Thakkar. Built on a foundation of trust and quality, the business quickly earned a strong reputation in timber trading.
Over the decades, we evolved with the industry — from traditional timber to premium Assam wood, and further into plywood, particle boards, and modern panel solutions. In 2005, the next generation, Prakash Thakkar and Devang Thakkar, introduced R.D. Thakkar & Sons, transforming the business into a comprehensive destination for high-quality interior and building materials.

Late Shri Dahyalal M. Thakkar and Late Shri Ratilal D. Thakkar open in Lati Bazar, Ahmedabad. Core business in timber trading — key products: Sadad, Mulan.
Premium woods introduced: Badam, Hollok, Chill and Lali — meeting demand from Gujarat's growing construction sector.
Entry into Nepal Particle Board and Assam Plywood, expanding beyond traditional timber into engineered wood panels.
